A network of mercy, working to end trafficking in Kenya

In 2016, Talitha Kum Kenya began during the Jubilee Year of Mercy. It was initiated by a collective effort of consecrated religious, lay women and men. Inspired by Pope Francis’ call to embody acts of mercy, particularly the corporal works of mercy, the organisation focuses on reaching out to and assisting those who reside on the margins of society.

The name comes from the Aramaic words spoken in the Gospel of Mark — “Talitha kum”: little girl, arise — and that is the work: helping those whom trafficking has knocked down to stand again.
